Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Nucleosomes consist of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The nucleosomes wrap further and compact DNA into chromotin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones play a central role in transciption regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability. H2B has a broad antibacterial activity.
