Adiponectin Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse, Rat, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA184881
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using a sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for the staining of paraffin sections. In Western blot, this antibody detects a band at ~26.4kDa in human HL60 cell lysates. A suggested positive control for PA1-84881 is rat brain. Rabbit anti Human adiponectin antibody recognizes an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of the 244 amino acid protein adiponectin (also known as Acrp30), a major adipokine secreted into the bloodstream from adipose tissue to modulate metabolism, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism.Adiponectin, also known as Acrp30, is a major adipokine secreted into the bloodstream from adipose tissue to modulate metabolism, including glucose regulation and fatty acid catabolism. Unlike most other adipokines, Adiponectin is secreted exclusively by differentiating adipocytes at reduced levels during obesity. The serum level of Adiponectin is inversely correlated with BMI (body mass index) of an individual, and has an anti-inflammatory action, playing an important role in type II diabetes (insulin sensitivity) and atherosclerosis.
