Description

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is pancreas tissue.

Amylin is a pancreatic islet peptide with a role in the maintece of glucose homoeostasis. It is predomitly found in the beta cells of the pancreas and to a lesser extent in the gastrointestinal tract and nervous system. This antibody may prove of value in studies to determine the level of staining for amylin in normal and diabetic pancreas and pancreatic carcinoma.
