ATG4C Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA118294
PA1-18294 detects ATG4C from human and rat samples. PA1-18294 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and Western blot procedures. The PA1-18294 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal residues of human ATG4C, conjugated to Blue Carrier Protein. The sequence is 100% conserved in mouse and rat. Reconstitute with 100 µL of distilled water.Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. Autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels of autophagy have been described in some maligt tumors, and a role for autophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. This gene encodes a member of the autophagin protein family. The encoded protein is also designated as a member of the C-54 family of cysteine proteases. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding the same protein, have been characterized.
