Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA121477
beta Galactosidase Antibody, PA1-21477, from Invitrogen. Species Reactivity: Bacteria; Applications: Dot blot, ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin, Frozen), Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot.Beta galactosidase is coded by a gene (lac z) in the lac operon of Escherichia coli. It is a metalloenzyme that splits lactose into glucose and galactose. It hydrolyzes terminal, non-reducing beta-D-galactose residues in beta-D-galactosides. Activation by cations seems to be substrate dependent. K+, Na+, NH4+, Rb+, Cs+ and Mn++ all activate enzyme activity based upon the substrate used.
Host Species: Rabbit
Cross Reactivity: Bacteria
Immunogen: Recombinant full length beta Galactosidase protein expressed in E. coli.
Formulation: 1mg purified antibody (10mg/mL) in 0.02M potassium phosphate with 0.15M NaCl and 0.01% sodium azide; pH 7.2
Synonyms: Beta-Gal, RP3-337O18.1, GLB2, GSL, NGBE, PPCA, PPGB
PA1-21477 detects beta Galactosidase in E. coli samples. PA1-21477 has been successfully used in ELISA, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (frozen and FFPE), immunoprecipitation, dot blot and Western blot procedures. The PA1-21477 immunogen corresponds to recombinant full length beta Galactosidase protein expressed in E. coli. Store at 4ºC short term. For extended storage, store at -20ºC, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
