Description

Description

Specifically detects c-Kit (961-976) Clone: in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin)

The c-kit proto-oncogene has been recently identified as a member of the receptor-tyrosine kinase family and more specifically a member of the platelet derived growth factor receptor (PDGF-R) family. The c-Kit protein, the normal cellular homolog of the HZ4-feline sarcoma virus v-Kit, encodes a transmembrane receptor with a molecular weight of~145-160kDa. c-Kit has also been shown to be identical with the product of theW locus in mice and as such is integral to the development of mast cells and hematopoiesis. More recently, the ligand of the c-kit receptor (KL) has been identified and characterized and shown to be encoded at the murinesteel (SI) locus.
