Caldesmon Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA527719
PA5-27719 targets Caldesmon in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-27719 immunogen is recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 203 of Human Caldesmon. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles. This gene encodes a calmodulin- and actin-binding protein that plays an essential role in the regulation of smooth muscle and nonmuscle contraction. The conserved domain of this protein possesses the binding activities to Ca(2+)-calmodulin, actin, tropomyosin, myosin, and phospholipids. This protein is a potent inhibitor of the actin-tropomyosin activated myosin MgATPase, and serves as a mediating factor for Ca(2+)-dependent inhibition of smooth muscle contraction. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
