Candida albicans is the most frequently isolated fungal pathogen of humans, affecting immuocompromised patients ranging from premature infants to AIDS sufferers. Systemic infections have an attributed mortality of 30-50%. C. albicans is a diploid organism which has eight sets of homologous chromosomes. Its genome size is about 16 Mb (haploid), about 30% greater than S. cerevisiae (baker's yeast).PA1-27145 detects Candida albicans from fungi samples.PA1-27145 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry. ELISA, and immunofluorescence procedures.The PA1-27145 immunogen is Candida albicans, type A.Store at 4ºC short term. For extended storage aliquot and store at -20ºC or below.
