CD41 Rabbit anti-Equine, Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA522307
PA5-22307 targets CD41/Integrin alpha 2b in Western blot and immunohistochemistry (paraffin) applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. PA5-22307 detects ITGA2b (CD41) protein in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded equine endometrial tissue. The PA5-22307 immunogen is a recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 210 and 532 of Integrin alpha 2b (Uniprot IDNo.P08514). Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, ITGA2B) is composed of two subunits -120 kDa a, alpha and 23 kDa b, beta- that interact with CD61 in the presence of calcium to form a functional adhesive protein receptor. CD41 is also involved in blood coagulation by mediating platelet aggregation. Upon blood vessel damage, CD41 binds to a variety of proteins including von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin and vitronectin. CD41 is mainly expressed on megakaryocyte-platelet lineage, but generally belongs to the antigens that are expressed during the early stages of hematopoietic differentiation. Diseases associated with CD41 dysfunction include Glansmann Thrombasthenia, and Platelet type-16 bleeding disorder.
