Description

Reacts with the 35-42 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on all leukocytes, including plasma cells, but not on platelets, erythrocytes, and non-hematopoietic tissues. CD53 mediates signal transduction in monocytes and B cells. It has the broadest reactivity of all pan-leukocyte reagents used in immunohistology applications.

This antibody is routinely tested by flow cytometric analysis. Other applications were tested at BD Biosciences Pharmingen during antibody development only or reported in the literature.
