CNTF Chicken anti-Human, Mouse, Rat, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Chicken Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA121214
PA1-21214 detects CNTF in Human, Mouse and Rat samples. PA1-21214 has been successfully used in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot procedures. PA1-21214 immunogen corresponds to Two peptides from human CNTF which are highly conserved among human and mouse sequences. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is expressed in glial cells within the central and peripheral nervous systems. CNTF stimulates gene expression, cell survival or differentiation in a variety of neuronal cell types such as sensory, sympathetic, ciliary and motor neurons. CNTF itself lacks a classical signal peptide sequence of a secreted protein, but is thought to convey its cytoprotective effects after release from adult glial cells by some mechanism induced by injury. In addition to its neuronal actions, CNTF also acts on non-neuronal cells such as glia, hepatocytes, skeletal muscle, embryonic stem cells and bone marrow stromal cells.
