Description

The PA1-73121 antibody reacts with Enterococcus species. PA1-73121 has been successfully used in Immunofluorescence applications. Aceton fixation of the antigen source is recommended prior to staining. The PA1-73121 antibody was raised against Enterococcus faecium whole cells. Recommended short term (6 months) storage is liquid at 4°C under subdued light. For longer term storage, aliquot and freeze.

Enterococci form part of the lactic acid bacteria family and are the third most important bacterial genus in hospital infections, especially Enterococcus (E.) faecium. In food they can spoil processed meats but they are equally important for ripening and aroma development of certain traditional cheeses and sausages and are used as human probiotics. However, they possesses a broad spectrum antibiotic resistance which has important implications to human health and disease.
