Description

PA1-30182 detects EPO from human samples. PA1-30182 has been successfully used in indirect ELISA, IHC-P, and Western blot applications. PA1-30182 has been tested for its ability to neutralize the biological activity of EPO on the human cell line, TF1. The PA1-30182 immunogen is recombit full length protein (Human), expressed in CHO cells. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

This gene is a member of the EPO/TPO family and encodes a secreted, glycosylated cytokine composed of four alpha helical bundles. The protein is found in the plasma and regulates red cell production by promoting erythroid differentiation and initiating hemoglobin synthesis. This protein also has neuroprotective activity against a variety of potential brain injuries and antiapoptotic functions in several tissue types.
