PA1-24763 detects overexpressed FGFR2 from transfected human samples. This antibody shows no cross reactivity with FGFR1 or FGFR3. PA1-24763 is expected to cross react with mouse (92% conserved) and rat (92% conserved) due to sequence homology. PA1-24763 has been successfully used in Immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blot procedures. The PA1-24763 immunogen is a synthetic peptide, conjugated to KLH by a Glutaraldehyde linker, corresponding to residues K(809) L P Q Y P H I G S V K T(821) of the cytoplasmic region of human FGFR2. Store at 4°C short term. For extended storage aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.FGFR2 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor receptor family. It is a tyrosine-protein kinase that acts as a cell-surface receptor for fibroblast growth factors and plays a central role in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, apoptosis, and embryonic development. FGFR family members differ from one another in their ligand affinities and tissue distribution. A full-length representative protein consists of an extracellular region, composed of three immunoglobulin-like domains, a single hydrophobic membrane-spanning segment and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain. Mutations in this gene are associated with Crouzon syndrome, Pfeiffer syndrome, Craniosynostosis, Apert syndrome, Jackson-Weiss syndrome, Beare-Stevenson cutis gyrata syndrome, Saethre-Chotzen syndrome, and syndromic craniosynostosis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.
