Description

Description

Reconstitute with 150 µL of distilled water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.

Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. Autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels of autophagy have been described in some maligt tumors, and a role for autophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. GABARAP belongs ot a large family of proteins that mediate intracellular membrane trafficking and/or fusion. GABARAP binds not only to GABA, type A but also to tubulin, gephrin, and ULK1. May play a role in intracellular transport of GABA(A) receptors and its interaction with the cytoskeleton. It interacts with GPHN and NSF; interacts with GABRG2, beta-tubulin and ULK1. Largely associated with intracellular membrane structures including the Golgi apparatus and post-synaptic cisternae. Colocalizes with microtubules. Expressed in Heart, brain, placenta, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas.
