GLI2 Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA128838
PA1-28838 detects Gli2 from mouse samples. PA1-28838 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin tissue), Western blot, and ELISA applications. The PA1-28838 immunogen is a Synthetic peptide, LRGAPSASRGSYTQQPR-C conjugated to KLH, corresponding to amino acids 1193-1209 of Mouse Gli2. Store as concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), store at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20° C or below, avoiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles. This protein belongs to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein subclass of the Gli family. Members of this subclass are characterized as transcription factors that bind DNA through zinc finger motifs. These motifs contain conserved H-C links. Gli family zinc finger proteins are mediators of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling and they are implicated as potent oncogenes in the embryonal carcinoma cell. The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the cytoplasm and activates patched Drosophila homolog (PTCH) gene expression. Gli2 is also thought to play a role during embryogenesis. The encoded protein is associated with several phenotypes- Greig cephalopolysyndactyly syndrome, Pallister-Hall syndrome, preaxial polydactyly type IV, postaxial polydactyly types A1 and B.
