GLRA1/GLRA2 Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse, Rat, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA184890
PA1-84890 detects a band at ~48 kDa in rat spinal cord lysates. Reconstitute with 0.1 mL PBS. For long term storage, the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. Prior to reconstitution, store at 4°C. After reconstitution, store undiluted at -20°C, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles. Rabbit anti glycine receptor recognizes an epitope within the N-terminal region (NT) of glycine receptor alpha 1 and alpha 2 subunits.Glycine receptors are members of the ligand-gated ion channel superfamily, which mediate fast inhibitory neurotransmission. The receptors are pentameric membrane proteins which form chloride channels. Binding of glycine to its receptor produces an increase in chloride conductance and membrane hyperpolarisation. Four genes encoding glycine receptor alpha subunits have been identified, together with a single beta polypeptide. Each subunit consists of a large extracellular N-terminal region, four transmembrane domains, and a large cytoplasmic domain.
