anti-Heat Shock Protein 75/HSP75/ TRAP-1 Ab-2, Clone: TR-1A, Epredia™ LabVision
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Epredia MS1309P0
Description
A wide variety of environmental and pathophysiological stressful conditions trigger the synthesis of a family of proteins known as heat shock proteins (HSP's), more appropriately called as stress response proteins (SRP's). The Hsp90 family of proteins in mammalian cells consists of Hsp90 α and β, Grp94, and Trap-1 (Hsp75). It was found that human TRAP-1 is localized to mitochondria and exhibited ATPase activity that was inhibited by both geldanamycin and radicicol indicating that TRAP-1 has functions that are distinct from those of hsp90. It was also found that TRAP-1 had a biochemical activity to refold denatured retinoblastoma protein (Rb) into its native conformation.
