Description

Description

PA5-21778 targets ICAM2 in IHC (P) and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-21778 immunogen is a recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 189 of ICAM2 (Uniprot IDNo.P13598). Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

ICAM-2 is a member of the intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) family. All ICAM proteins are type I transmembrane glycoproteins, contain 2-9 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains, and bind to the leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein. ICAM-2 may play a role in lymphocyte recirculation by blocking LFA-1-dependent cell adhesion. It mediates adhesive interactions important for antigen-specific immune response, NK-cell mediated clearance, lymphocyte recirculation, and other cellular interactions important for immune response and surveillance. Several transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Diseases associated with ICAM2 include Colon Carcinoma In Situ.
