MA1-40060 detects JAM-C from mouse and human samples. MA1-40060 has been successfully used in flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays, immunohistochemistry (frozen), and immunoprecipitation applications. ELISA: Antibody CRAM-18 F26 can be used as a detection antibody. The MA1-40060 immunogen is mouse JAM-C.

Tight junctions represent one mode of cell-to-cell adhesion in epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, forming continuous seals around cells and serving as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space. Junctional adhesion molecule-C (JAM-C) also known as JAM-3 is a 45 kD cell adhesion molecule (CAM). JAM-C is a transmembrane protein which is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily found at intercellular junctions of endothelial cells. Unlike other proteins in this family, this protein is unable to adhere to leukocyte cell lines and only forms weak homotypic interactions. The JAM-C/JAM3 protein is a member of the junctional adhesion molecule protein family and acts as a receptor for another member of this family. JAM-C is potentially involved in the junctional sealing of the vascular endothelium, in particular of high endothelial venules (HEV). In adult murine tissue JAM-C expression is reported to be restricted to high endothelial venules of lymphoid organs, lymphoendothelial cells and endothelial cells in kidney.
