PA5-28073 targets Laforin in IF, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-28073 immunogen is synthetic peptide corresponding to a region within amino acids 270 and 331 of Human Laforin. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

This gene encodes a dual-specificity phosphatase that associates with polyribosomes. The encoded protein may be involved in the regulation of glycogen metabolism. Mutations in this gene have been associated with myoclonic epilepsy of Lafora. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
