PA1-29491 detects LHX3 from Amphibian, mouse, human, rat, fish samples. PA1-29491 has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (paraffin & frozen tissue), Western blot, immunoprecipitation applications. Predicted molecular weight of 44 kDa. The PA1-29491 immunogen is: C-terminal portion of mouse LHX3 protein. Store as concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), store at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20° C or below, avoiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

This gene encodes a member a large protein family which carry the LIM domain, a unique cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain. The encoded protein is a transcription factor that is required for pituitary development and motor neuron specification. Mutations in this gene have been associated with a syndrome of combined pituitary hormone deficiency and rigid cervical spine. Two transcripts variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
