Description

PA1-330 detects recombit human liver X receptor (LXR) alpha. This antibody does not detect human recombit LXR beta protein. PA1-330 has been successfully used in ICC/IF and Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~64 kDa protein representing recombit human LXR alpha. The PA1-330 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C D(318) F S Y N R E D F A K A(329) of human LXR alpha. The PA1-330 immunizing peptide (Cat. No. PEP-114) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

Liver X receptors (LXRs), also known as RLD1, are oxysterol activated nuclear receptors which are involved in the regulation of genesis and metabolism of cholesterols and bile acids. LXRs form heterodimeric complexes with the retinoic acid receptors (RARs) once activated by their respective oxysterol ligands. Two known isoforms, alpha and beta, are differentially expressed; the alpha isoform predomitly expressed in liver, whereas beta isoform expression has been shown to be ubiquitous. The corresponding gene for the LXR alpha is NR1H3.
