MilliporeSigma anti-MMP-9; Polyclonal; (Chemicon)
Manufacturer: MilliporeSigma AB13458/DEL
MMPs are a group of enzymes involved in matrix degradation. They share some important characteristics, such as a common mode of activation, a conserved amino acid sequence in the putative metal binding-active site region, and inhibition by specific proteinase inhibitors known as tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is an essential step in tumour invasion and metastasis. The MMPs each have different substrate specificities within the ECM and are important in its degradation.
