Description

MMPs are proteolytic enzymes capable of degrading connective tissue components. They have a common mode of activation, a conserved amino acid sequence in the putative metal binding-active site region, and are inhibited by specific tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). MMPa and TIMPs play a significant role in regulating angiogenesis. This antibody reacts with both latent and active MMP-9.

This antibody is predicted to react with porcine based on sequence homology.Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is placenta or breast carcinoma.
