Description

Description

NPY2 receptor is a member of GPCR1 family and is localized primarily on Neuropeptide Y-expressing neurons in the hypothalamic region of the brain. It binds specifically to the C-terminal of Neuropeptide Y and is responsible for regulation of presynaptic relase of noradrenaline. Reports suggest a probable role of NPY2 receptor in regulation of feeding behavior, energy homeostasis and also in regulating cardiovascular system. Variations in the NPY2 receptor genes have been linked to occurrence of Diabetes.

NPY2R is also expected to react with mouse and canine samples based on sequence homology.Suggested positive control: human kidney protein, kidney lysate.
