Description

Description

Anti-human killer inhibitory receptor (KIR), NKB1, (Anti-Hu KIR [NKB1]) recognizes a 70kDa glycoprotein that is a member of the p58/NK-associated transcript (NKAT) family of class I receptors. KIR (NKB1) is an MHC class I receptor that inhibits NK celln++ated cytotoxicity on target cells that express HLA-B molecules of the Bw4 serotype, but it does not affect recognition of HLA-A or HLA-C antigens. KIR (NKB1)-mediated inhibition is abrogated by binding of Anti-Hu KIR (NKB1). Anti-Hu KIR (NKB1) also regulates T-cell activation initiated through the T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) complex. KIR (NKB1) is expressed on a subset of human NK cells (CD3-/CD56+), NK cell clones, and a subset of human T lymphocytes.
