OLIG1/OLIG2/OLIG3 Mouse anti-Human, Clone: 257224, Invitrogen
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen MA523805
In direct ELISAs, this antibody shows approximately 20% cross-reactivity with recombit human (rh) Olig2 and 50-100% cross-reactivity with rhOlig3. Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.Olig1 promotes formation and maturation of oligodendrocytes, especially within the brain. Cooperates with OLIG2 to establish the pMN domain of the embryonic neural tube. Olig2 is an essential regulator of ventral neuroectodermal progenitor cell fate. The gene is involved in a chromosomal translocation t(14;21)(q11.2;q22) associated with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Its chromosomal location is within a region of chromosome 21 which has been suggested to play a role in learning deficits associated with Down syndrome. Tissue specificity: Expressed in the brain, in oligodendrocytes. Strongly expressed in oligodendrogliomas, while expression is weak to moderate in astrocytomas. Expression in glioblastomas highly variable.
