P2X3 Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse, Non-human primate, Rat, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA124625
PA1-24625 detects P2X3 from human, rat, and non-human primate samples. PA1-24625 is expected to cross react with mouse (100% conserved) due to sequence homology. PA1-24625 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (frozen), and Western blot procedures. The PA1-24625 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues V(383) E K Q S T D S G A Y S I G H(397) of C-terminus of rat P2X3. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles. The product of this gene belongs to the family of purinoceptors for ATP. This receptor functions as a ligand-gated ion channel and may transduce ATP-evoked nociceptor activation. Mouse studies suggest that this receptor is important for peripheral pain responses, and also participates in pathways controlling urinary bladder volume reflexes. It is possible that the development of selective antagonists for this receptor may have a therapeutic potential in pain relief and in the treatment of disorders of urine storage.
