Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Manufacturer:  Invitrogen PA528020

Catalog No. PIPA528020

Description

Description

PA5-28020 targets P2X7 in IHC (P) and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-28020 immunogen is recombit protein fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 103 and 348 of Human P2X7. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

The product of this gene belongs to the family of purinoceptors for ATP. This receptor functions as a ligand-gated ion channel and is responsible for ATP-dependent lysis of macrophages through the formation of membrane pores permeable to large molecules. Activation of this nuclear receptor by ATP in the cytoplasm may be a mechanism by which cellular activity can be coupled to changes in gene expression. Multiple alternatively spliced variants which would encode different isoforms have been identified although some fit nonsense-mediated decay (NMD) criteria.
