PAR4 Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen™
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Thermo Scientific PA138505
Description
This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and rat based on sequence homology. Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is heart tissue.
Prostate apoptosis response-4 (Par-4) is a 38kD protein originally identified as the product of a gene that is upregulated in prostate tumor cells undergoing apoptosis. It is a leucine zipper and death domain-containing protein whose levels increase in neurons undergoing apoptosis as a result of trophic factor withdrawal or exposure to oxidative and metabolic insults. Par-4 levels are reported to be increased in their lumbar spinal cord specimens further suggesting a role in neuronal degeneration.
