Phospho-ERK5 (Thr218), Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA126728
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. This kinase is specifically activated by mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 (MAP2K5/MEK5). It is involved in the downstream signaling processes of various receptor molecules including receptor type kinases, and G protein-coupled receptors. In response to extracelluar signals, this kinase translocates to cell nucleus, where it regulates gene expression by phosphorylating, and activating different transcription factors. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding two distinct isoforms have been reported.PA1-26728 detects ERK5 (phospho T218) from human samples. PA1-26728 is expected to cross react with mouse (100% conserved) due to sequence homology. PA1-26728 shows some cross-reactivity with ERK1 and 2 (44 and 42 kDa, respectively)PA1-26728 has been successfully used in Immunohistochemistry (frozen), and Western blot procedures. Predicted molecular weight is 88 kDa.The PA1-26728 immunogen is a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to a portion of human ERK5 containing threonine 218 and tyrosine 220.Store at 4ºc short term. For extended storage, aliquiot and store at -20ºC or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
