Porin Mouse anti-Yeast, Clone: 16G9E6BC4, Invitrogen
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen 459500
DescriptionPorin belongs to the eukaryotic mitochondrial porin family of voltage dependent anion channels which allow the transport of adenine nucleotides and other metabolites throught the outer mitochondrial membrane. The conformation of the protein is regulated by membrane potential, which affects its divalent metal ion selectivity. Porin is also involved in mitochondrial apoptosis, forming permeability transition pore complexes (PTPC) in association with adenine nucleotide transporter, and cyclophilin D, leading to release of apoptogenic factors that activate caspases and initiate cell death.
