RGS18 Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA523112
DescriptionRGS signaling proteins are highly diverse and multifunctional proteins that act as inhibitors of G-protein signaling.RGS18, a 235 A.A protein, is the smallest member of this family. It is predomitly expressed in immune tissues and is characterized by the presence of a conserved 120A.A RGS domain. It is found to be expressed in lymphocytes, megakaryocytes and platelets and might play an important role in regulating G-protein mediated signaling in lungs and immune system. It specifically binds to GTP-bound G-alpha subunits and acts as a GAP protein, thus inhibiting G-alpha mediated signaling. It blocks MAP-Kinase activity and cAMP generation induced by G-alpha-i or G-alpha-q-coupled receptors. This protein is thought to play an important role in proliferation, differentiation and migration of megakaryocytes and platelets.
