PA5-28240 targets SGLT1 in IF, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-28240 immunogen is recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 252 and 612 of Human SGLT1. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Glucose transporters are integral membrane proteins that mediate the transport of glucose and structurally-related substances across cellular membranes. Two families of glucose transporter have been identified: the facilitated-diffusion glucose transporter family (GLUT family), also known as  ft.uniporters, ft. and the sodium-dependent glucose transporter family (SGLT family), also known as  ft.cotransporters ft. or  ft.symporters ft. (Wright et al., 1994 [PubMed 7823022]). The SLC5A1 gene encodes a protein that is involved in the active transport of glucose and galactose into eukaryotic and some prokaryotic cells.
