PA5-28912 targets Squalene synthetase(SQS) in IHC (P) and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-28912 immunogen is recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 395 of Human Squalene synthetase(SQS). Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

This gene encodes a membrane-associated enzyme located at a branch point in the mevalonate pathway. The encoded protein is the first specific enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, catalyzing the dimerization of two molecules of farnesyl diphosphate in a two-step reaction to form squalene.
