PA1-4218 detects the TAZ protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. PA1-4218 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~49 kDa protein representing TAZ in MDCK cells. The PA1-4218 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues V(386) E S A L N K S E P FL T W L(400) of the 49kDa human TAZ protein.

Highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed 14-3-3 proteins regulate differentiation, cell cycle progression and apoptosis by binding intracellular phosphoproteins involved in signal transduction. A novel transcriptional co-activator, TAZ (transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif) functions as a 14-3-3-binding molecule. TAZ may link events at the plasma membrane and cytoskeleton to nuclear transcription in a manner that can be regulated by 14-3-3.
