TIMP3, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA121146
The tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) are naturally occurring proteins that specifically inhibit matrix metalloproteinases and regulate extracellular matrix turnover and tissue remodeling by forming tightly bound inhibitory complexes with the MMPs. Thus, TIMPs maintain the balance between matrix destruction and formation. An imbalance between MMPs and the associated TIMPs may play a significant role in the invasive phenotype of malignant tumors.PA1-21146 detects TIMP-3 in rabbit, human and baboon samples. This antibody will not detect rat, bovine, avian, or porcine samples.PA1-21146 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures. The PA1-21146 immunogen is a synthetic peptidecorresponding to the C-terminal portion of human TIMP-3.
