TPH2 Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA527584
PA5-27584 targets TPH2 in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-27584 immunogen is recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 178 and 490 of Human TPH2. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles. This gene encodes a member of the pterin-dependent aromatic acid hydroxylase family. The encoded protein catalyzes the first and rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of serotonin, an important hormone and neurotransmitter. The human genome contains two related tryptophan hydroxylases, one on chromosome 11p15-p14 and one on chromosome 12q21. This gene is expressed predomitly in the brain stem. Mutations in this gene may be associated with psychiatric diseases such as bipolar affective disorder and major depression.
