TRPM8 Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA529382
PA5-29382 targets Trp-p8 in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-29382 immunogen is recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 321 and 611 of Human Trp-p8. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.TRPM8 is a receptor-activated non-selective cation channel involved in detection of sensations such as coolness, by being activated by cold temperature below 25 degrees Celsius. TRPM8 is activated by icilin, eucalyptol, menthol, cold and modulation of intracellular pH and involved in menthol sensation. TRPM8 is permeable for monovalent cations sodium, potassium, and cesium and divalent cation calcium. TRPM8 has an expression pattern within normal human tissues that is mostly restricted to prostate epithelial cells. TRPM8 mRNA expression is at moderate levels in normal prostate tissue and appears to be elevated in prostate cancer. Notably, TRPM8 mRNA was also expressed in a number of nonprostatic primary tumors of breast, colon, lung, and skin origin, whereas transcripts encoding TRPM8 were hardly detected or not detected in the corresponding normal human tissues.
