Barium aluminum oxide is used for getter alloys in vacuum tubes. It also finds application as deoxidizer for copper, Frary’s metal, lubricant for anode rotors in x-ray tubes and spark-plug alloys. It is used to prepare heat-resistant refractory and super-refractory concretes. Further, it gives a better protection against gamma radiation and X-rays.
