Description

MA1-21190 detects c-Fos in human, mouse, and rat samples. This antibody does not cross-react with the 39 kDa jun protein. MA1-21190 has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry and Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects ∽55 & 62 kDa bands representing c-fos and v-fos, respectively. MA1-21190 is not suitable for IHC applications on frozen or paraffin tissues. Positive control of HeLa Cells suggested. The MA1-21190 immunogen is a synthetic peptide: KVEQLSPEEEEKRRIRRERNKMAAA corresponding to Internal sequence amino acids 128 - 152 of Human c-Fos.

c-FOS is a nuclear phosphoprotein which forms a tight but non-covalently linked complex with the JUN/AP-1 transcription factor. It has a critical function in regulating the development of cells destined to form and maintain the skeleton, and is thought to have an important role in signal transduction, cell proliferation and differentiation.
