The DR-6-04-EC monoclonal antibody specifically binds to CD358 which is also known as Death Receptor 6 (DR6). CD358 is a single-pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein that is encoded by TNFRSF21 (Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 21). CD358 is comprised of four TNFR-cysteine rich repeats in its extracellular domain and has a cytoplasmic death domain. CD358 is expressed by cells in a variety of tissues including the nervous system, heart, placenta, pancreas, thymus, lymph nodes, and bone marrow. CD358 can also be highly expressed by a large variety of tumor cells and cancer cell lines. CD358 is capable of apoptotic signaling or activation of JNK or NF- B signaling pathways upon ligand binding and functions in regulating cellular proliferation, differentiation, or survival. In the immune system, CD358 was found to be highly expressed by plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and may play an important role in type-I interferon (IFN-I) production. CD358 reportedly helps regulate T cell and B cell proliferation and differentiation. A cleaved, soluble form of the full CD358 extracellular domain has been described that appears to have immunomodulatory functions.

Alexa Fluor™ 647 conjugates are highly photostable and remain fluorescent over a broad pH range. The excitation and emission maxima are nearly identical to those of APC. However, APC tends to be brighter while Alexa Fluor™ 647 is more optimal for intracellular applications. This fluorochrome exhibits uncommon photostability, making it an ideal choice for use in fluorescence microscopy. Due to nearly identical excitation and emission properties but different spillover characteristics, APC and Alexa Fluor™ 647 cannot be used simultaneously.
