CD5 Rabbit anti-Human, Invitrogen
Rabbit Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen MA527903
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein. CD5 is present on all mature T-lymphocytes, on most of thymocytes and on many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. CD5 also reacts with a subpopulation of activated B-cells and may act as a receptor in regulating T-cell proliferation. CD5 is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. In lymph nodes, the main reactivity is observed in T cell areas. CD5 is expressed by many T cell leukemia, lymphomas, and activated T cells. Diseases associated with CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter ft.s Syndrome.
