Description

This Snap-N-Shoot™ stable-labeled internal standard is suitable for quantification of β-carotene levels in serum or other matrices by LC/MS or GC/MS for clinical diagnostic, or food and nutrition testing applications. β-Carotene, also known as E160a when used as food coloring supplement, is a precursor to vitamin A. Serum levels of β-carotene are an adequate measurement of clinical status and can confirm the diagnosis of carotenoderma and is used to detect fat malabsorption. Low levels may be found in cases of steatorrhea.
