N-Desmethylmirtazapine is the major urinary metabolite of the tetracyclic antidepressant mirtazapine, marketed under the trade names Remeron™, Avanza, or Zispin for treatment of depression. The metabolite, also known as normirtazapine, is pharmacologically active.
