Claudin 8 Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody (4HCLC), Invitrogen™
Rabbit Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Thermo Scientific 710222
Description
This antibody is predicted to react with equine, mouse and rat based on sequence homology. Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ∽150 kDa band and upon reduction generating a ∽25 kDa light chain band and a ∽50 kDa heavy chain. Recombit rabbit polyclonal antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are comprised of a selection of multiple different recombit monoclonal antibodies, providing the best of both worlds – the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies - all delivered with the consistency only found in a recombit antibody. While functionally the same as a polyclonal antibody – recognizing multiple epitope sites on the target and producing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets – a recombit rabbit polyclonal antibody has a known mixture of light and heavy chains. The exact population can be produced in every lot, circumventing the biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.
Claudin-8 belongs to the claudin family of integral membrane proteins. Claudins are responsible for the formation of tight junction strands, and are connected with the actin cytoskeleton mediated by ZO-1. Claudin-8 is a tight junction protein expressed in several distal nephron segments, suggesting that it may have a role as a paracellular cation barrier protein. Claudin-8 is expressed in the inner ear, and the umbrella cell tight junctions in the bladder epithelium.Specifications
