Description

Description

Description: This Ab204 monoclonal antibody detects human DDX5 protein also known as DEAD box protein 5 and RNA helicase p68. This antibody has been reported to cross-react with mouse and rat orthologs of DDX5 protein. Applications Reported: This Ab204 antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining for flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This Ab204 antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated normal human peripheral blood cells using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product No. 00-5523-00) and protocol. Please refer to "Staining Intracellular Antigens for Flow Cytometry, Protocol B: One step protocol for intracellular (nuclear) proteins" located at <a href="https://www.thermofisher.com/flowprotocols">www.thermofisher.com/flowprotocols</a>. This may be used at 5 μL (0.5 μg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. Excitation: 488-561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue Laser, Green Laser, Yellow-Green Laser

DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. This gene encodes a DEAD box protein, which is a RNA-dependent ATPase, and also a proliferation-associated nuclear antigen, specifically reacting with the simian virus 40 tumor antigen. This gene consists of 13 exons, and alternatively spliced transcripts containing several intron sequences have been detected, but no isoforms encoded by these transcripts have been identified.
