DOK5 is a new signaling protein which has a potential role in insulin and IGF-1 action. This is an adapter proteins involved in signal transduction. DOK5 genes expressed in T cells and its expression is highest in skeletal muscle. This protein is tyrosine-phosphorylated in response to insulin and IGF-1 in transfected cells, It neither associates with these Src homology 2 domains nor activates MAPK.
