- Composed of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) that binds far less protein than than nylon, nitrocellulose or PTFE membranes
- White, plain membranes are autoclavable
- Hydrophilic membranes are 125µm thick with 0.22µm pores
- Typical refractive index: 1.42
- Clarification of air and other gases
- Sterilizing filtration of protein solutions, tissue culture media, additives, antibiotics and alcohols
- Particulate removal and biological assays (receptor binding studies, TCA precipitates)
